SEM Labs has released under the Creative Commons license 52 blogging inspired icons. The icons are 48 pixels by 48 pixels in size and are in PNG format. I’m not sure what the deal is with icons but there is an increasing demand for them. I know based on experience since the icon pack posts I published on my personal blog have received the most search engine traffic.

Very useful tip.
This is a good system to bait links for sem labs.
However I downloaded them all.
@Jeet: Yes. These icons are time consuming, but I think if you are serrious about a project you should make your own icon set to fit in with the colour scheme of the site, rather than just use any old icon set.
I have just released another icon set here: http://semlabs.co.uk/journal/free-web-design-icon-set
Well, just like templates/themes, icons are in demand by lazy webmasters who want to get a project up an running without spending time in creating new icons from scratch.
Icons are a great way to link to 10/15 different pages from a small space. Well known icons are a definite substitute for text. (Some would point at the SEO value of text).
Wow thats cool. Thanks for the useful information and link. I will definitely check it out soon.
