So it seems that Raj was right…the drupal codefilter module handles this:
just wrap all of your code with the following tags:
<code>your code goes here</code>

I do not have any problems either. Does this have anything to do with trying to get more optimzed code? or possibly publishing coding examples without it turning into code?
