Looking for the ultimate WP Theme Generator

Submitted by jvh2171 on January 23, 2008 - 3:47pm in

Since I'm using a self-hosted Wordpress, I'm really happy because this fine masterpiece of code fulfills my blogger-needs almost completely.

But if someone would ask me "What do you really miss?" I would answer "A really cool and easy-to-use but without any limitations Design-Tool for Wordpress!"

Okay folks, I know that there are several WP Theme Generator Sites out there in the W3. But what I really mean is, such a cool application (either web-based or client-app) that gives me full control about everything.

(I was interrupted while writing this entry so I will continue it now...)

I want to decide, whether I want a 1 col, 2 col, 3 col, 4 col or even 5 col layout. And I want it to do just with a few mouseclicks. And I want to revert my decision any time I'm in the development progress.

I want to control all the necessary CSS values without knowing about "text-style" and "font-variant" are similar but different things. I want to tell my theme, how I want my Links designed - giving me full control if it is a Sidebar List Link, the Header, the Pages or a Link in a Post.

I think you get the image what I am looking for.

If I had the abilities in programming, I would do it myself - but so...

Here a list from some wordpress theme generators:
WP Theme Generator (free)
Templatr (free)
ThemesPress (commercial)
Tomorrows Laundry (free)
CSSez (free)

(see list at mashable for more infos...)

yeah :)

I keep wanting this too. There is the Blueprint CSS Grid framework and related generators to build templates for themes, but conversion to WordPress is still manual.
