WordPress is a great blogging platform and getting it search engine optimized really isn’t a hard task. Using proper permalinks and robots.txt file to prevent duplicate content and a few other methods can really make a difference. The All in One SEO plugin is really the best bet.

Definitely need a related posts plugin. I would also recommend WWSGD for gaining subscribers and SEO Smart Links for auto-linking within your content.

Thanks for contributing with your list of must have plugins. I know quite a few people who love the Exec-PHP plugin, especially for allowing people to add AdSense php code into their posts. I also use Subscribe to comments. In fact, I don’t know of anyone who doesn’t.

Subscribe to comments. Easy to use and extremely good plugin for those who comment a lot.

RSS comment feeds are good for very active blogs but not for subscribing to every blog were you left a comment.

Although Yours is a nice list, I'm only using a couple of the listed plugins myself. Whenever I implement a new WordPress installation, these are some of my favorite "must have" plugins:

Exec-PHP - Which allows me to execute php-code directly in my posts.
Less - I like to jump to the start of the post rather than end up in the middle of it, after clicking the "read More"-link.
Subscribe To Comments - As a curtesy to my readers.
Zap_NewWindow - Because it makes sense to me that external links open in a new window (or tab).
Post Template - To ease the creation of similar looking posts.
Related Posts/Pages - As a curtesy to my readers.
WP-DBManager - For backup purposes.

From Your list, I think I might have a look at the WP Comment Remix, Vipers Video Quicktags and AskApache Google 404 plugins. They sound interesting.
