StudioPress Pure Elegance Child Theme

The Pure Elegance child theme from StudioPress is aimed towards the photography enthusiast with a taste for the homey and sentimental—wedding, children, craft blogs are also great applications of the look. Both you and your readers can enjoy the images in each post as big and as wide as they come.

Everything else gets out of the way to make sure it’s the photos that are in the spotlight, from the homepage slideshow widget to the featured post widget area, which lets you display four photo posts. Next, there are two more featured posts in full-width format, followed by a two-column grid of posts below it.

However, I do find the choice of Courier New, combined with its size and color, to be a bit difficult to read, especially on the one-column layout posts. Yellow links on a white background isn’t so forgiving either. But you can always choose to switch to its two other color schemes: ivory (with pink accents) or charcoal (with turquoise accents). Tan with the yellow accents is the default. If the linen background isn’t your thing, you can always upload your own custom background, or your own custom header for that matter.

Changing text widths can be achieved with column classes available in Pure Elegance theme’s parent framework, Genesis (one-half, one-third, one-fourth, one-fifth), as well as the layout orientation as either content-sidebar, sidebar-content, or full width content. Available page templates are the archive page and blog page. Customizing your social media links can be found in the Social widget. The sidebars are optimized for various ad sizes, with regions for both narrow and wide banners, while the footer region has three widgets as well.
