If there were ever an activity where habits rule, it is blogging. Every blogger quickly forms habits, takes shortcuts, etc. Many of these habits and shortcuts are ultimately harmful to the success of a blog.

A person might be more suited to that type of blogging - celebrity-style blogging - than blogging to help people or foster discussions.

My biggest mistake was to worry more about bringing in revenue than traffic. Now I know revenue follows traffic.
