Error #3

Several times trying to get the system to post to blogger I got the error "There was a possible error contacting the Atom Server. Error #3 [object:Object]

Each time I could copy the post into a Blog This window, and it would post with no problem

I dont understand

How could it be something to do with settings? I am not changing any settings, yet if I try to post 10 posts, four or five of them will get the Error #3. I may get two or three to post with no problem, then two or three with error #3.

Basically I try almost all posts through performancing initially, but if I get error #3 I open a BlogThis, post in the Title and the HTML code, and post it that way, then clear the Performancing data. The next time it may work, or if it doesn't I BlogThis that post two. Eventually some will work. If none worked I would think it was settings, or I would just abandon Performancing, but enough work that I continue to use it, but enough fail that it is a pain in the a$$

Yeah... I promise I will try

Yeah... I promise I will try and get to the bottom of this.. not sure what the hell is wrong with blogger, or why the ramdomness :(

Blogger was (is?) very unstable ...

If you read http://status.blogger.com/ it sounds like a nightmare.

Maybe this had something to do with the posting problems?

Markus, thanks for the link,

Markus, thanks for the link, ouch, that might be it. Sure does sound like a nightmare.

blogger nightmare

Blogger certainly has been having its problems, but every time I get the error I can open a Blog This window, and fill in the title and html code from Performancing, and it always works through Blog This.

I can confirm ...

that recently not one page got through :-(

Yeah, Theo said he's been

Yeah, Theo said he's been talking with the blogger guys, and a fix might be available soon.
In the mean-time he's presented me with a good work around, so if anyone is interested, PM me your email address and I'll send a beta with the fix so you can test it out.

Cheers

I believe I have fixed this

I believe I have fixed this issue.
Please PM me if you'd like a beta build with this fix.
Thanks!

Now it's doing it to me!!

I was using Performancing merrily when I accidently slipped in the wrong password to blogger. Then it wouldn't let me in, even with the corrected password.

We tried uninstalling Performancing, erasing the Launch Account Wizard settings for Blogger.com and reinstalling them. The confirmation window would pop up continuously even thought the correct information was being supplied. When I finally cancelled the efforts, the following error message would pop up:

There was a possible error contacting the ATOM server: Error #3 [object Object].

sqtret: Try re-adding you

sqtret: Try re-adding you blogger account in PFF, that should reset the password for you and make it all back to normal.

Tried it, New Problem

As mentioned in the prior comment, we tried that. Tried it again after your suggestion and encounterd the Blogger.com Authentication box. Username and Password. Entered it, was presented with a blank box, tried a half dozen times and then cancelled it. Bam! Error 3 box popped up.

I just deleted the Performancing settings for my blogger.com blog:Belltower News.

I commented on this blog how Performancing issues have come up from the blogger.com side of the equation. This needed to be done, because of all of the previous entries singing Performancing's praises.

To see if it was something at this end, we created a WordPress blog, Grazing Press . Performancing worked fine there, and I said so.

Let's hope this gets resolved soon because I have already established a habit and it's allowing me to make spontaneous entries without leaving Firefox.

I get Error #3 also but not always when blogging.

Just like some of you, the performancing extension worked just fine for me the first day, then I started getting the Error #3. Now I get Error #3 when I'm not even blogging. I get it right after FireFox gets done loading. My version of FF is 1.5.0.1 and my startpage is digg.com.

Error #3 when not blogging

I was getting that too. It started when I installed Performancing 1.1.1. I disabled it from the FF extentions page and the problem went away. I suppose we just wait 'til the Performancing folks figure out how to get around it.

Blogger Comments Filling UP

At http://search.blogger.com/?ui=blg&q=Blogger++API you'll see this is a system wide problem at blogger. I guess we have to just sit back and wait for them to fix it.

sqtret, thank you so much

sqtret, thank you so much for that link, I was going mad trying to figure out if it was a pff issue or a server issue on their side.

Glad to know. In the meantime you can use the old 'blogger' api, however the downfall is it doesn't support the title field which will cause any posts to be title-less.

Error #3 killing me!

I am a newbie at Performancing and cannot figure out why I am getting the #3 error for Blogger when I try to post to any of my blogs using the Firefox extension.

Also, if you have any idea of when you created your blog?
Seems like depending on the date you created it, things are a bit different.

@xinfo: That info about unblocking your account is already available on p.com. In short: Click on ? symbol below text editor beside the Captcha (only shown if blog is blocked).

The error #3 also happens when the specific blogger site is not blocked for spamming reasons.

certificate error: Navigation blocked

Whenever I want to go to blogger.com , it comes out with 'certificate error: Navigation blocked', and the webpage can't display. What should I do?
