Embed Probelm with PFF?

I have had problems embedding youtube movies and such like but never a problem with links. What happens when you try to create a link?

Ordinarily it is a problem with the html component rewriting the tags.

That may be it, or it's a Blogger problem, and it seems it's off and on. When I tried to post a link earlier and tried to blog, it came back with that embed error even though I used the link button. Just now, it seemed to work when I did a new blog post. Still the picture and video embed is still a problem, I can not post pics in my blog using PFF it seems. I don't use the video embeds as much so I'm not worried about that.

Tried to post a pretty simple post which contains only plain text, italics, and links using the link button. Here is the message I've received over and over again. BTW, it posted fine to MySpace.

It did not like the following section of the post AT ALL!!!

It did not care for the index....category part. Maybe that is the problem for the other person as well??? I don't know anything about web posting, so I don't know what the issues are, but I'm guessing deep links just aren't tolerated. Hope that helps someone.

I m getting the same error messages, just for Blogger. It's impossible to post to Blogger right now if there is any sort of links, pics, or videos embedded. I'm not sure who's problem it is, but it's getting very frustrating.

Getting the same error here. I'm having no problem making the same posts with other plugins, such as BlogThis, but I can only use that on my other computer, because I can't get BlogThis to work on the latest version of FF. Performancing would be my preferred method of posting, but there's no way I can go without embedded pics and video.

I'm also getting the embed error when I'm posting nothing but text and links. It almost always happens; once or twice it actually went through. Anyway, I went back to BlogThis. There's a link in the comments to a repackaged version that works with Firefox 2.

i've been getting the same problem for months, now, and i'd like to fix it, but i'm wondering how to approach it. can i fix it myself, or do i just ask the original author to fix it?

other than that, the problem appears to be that Blogger (or something) doesn't like ampersands ('&').

so, this will cause an error:

there are several other improvements i'd like to make, but want to get the status of the product/project/company. last i heard they were going under. i really want/need this thing to work right all the time, and i'd be willing to pay for it. it saves me time right now, but a few bug fixes and it could save me a lot more time. i'd be willing to pay for that.

Been getting a lot of those errors lately too. But anyway, just to make it clear. No ampersands (&) and the error goes away? Even in the body?

First of all i hate this new blogger setup and it's making my blood pressure go thru the roof!! it affects my google mail that i don't want to sign in with.. long story but god i hate it!!

ok your problem- maybe this might help.. i always post on the "edit html" tab because i am usually likely wanting to post a link.. if i enter my code and then go to publish it.. i get that same dang error u all talk about, but if i click over to the "compose" tab right before i click "publish", i find no errors that stop me from posting.. maybe that will help some of you..

now my problem.. i've got blogs all over the net, i used blogdrive and had issues with them so decided to move my blog to blogger (basically starting it over).. for my first several posts for several days, i had NO issues posting/embedding videos from google videos (that i had uploaded).. no problems whatsoever..yo simply copy and paste the code they give u, i alter it by changing the size and align it to the right or left instead of center.. and all is well.

well all of a sudden yesterday, my google videos won't post on the blog.. the little box shows up, but the video remains black, you can't click it or anything.. It is NOT because the video isn't processed.. i've tried several things to find out what is going on and nothing has helped me solve this

i tried: taking the code from a video i posted days ago, that still works, and took that code and tried to post it into a new blog post- it doesn't work , it shows up as a box with black blank screen that won't click (keep in mind all the orig video's i posted work fine)

i tried grabbing someone elses google video and posting it.. notta!

I tried starting a new blog and named it "tester" just to see if it would except a video in a blog post.. nope! comes up black box like the others..

i tried going to youtube and grabbing someone elses embed code for their video, it also is nothng but a black box on my blogger blog..

i checked blogger for "known issues"

i tried the help section which never pulls up anything usefull

i tried digging thru google video help (even though this seems to be a blogger issue) and found nothing..

i tried google in general and ended up here at your forum /these posts..

It is march 23 and i've found nothing on google with the same problems i'm having, close to the date i'm having these problems..

i'm frazzled trying to figure out the problem.. as i said,, i for several days posted/embeded the code for videos on my blog with no problem.. now the new videos i try to post are coming up black boxes and never change into the video..

also, all these videos are wmv, including the old ones that still work (old ones are only several days old)..

so if anyone has a clue what is going on.. tell me!!! thanks.

that sounds like a good workaround on the ampersand publishing problem. i'll try it next time.

i only use it b/c i don't have any real blogs - blogs that make money, have an audience, etc.

but blogger is the worst product ever invented. even in its 'new and improved' version. i saw that it won an award as 'best of free bloggers' categories somewhere last year or so. i haven't used the other blog tools, so it's tough to say for sure, but if blogger won an award or someting for blogging, that could only mean the state of free blogging software-as-a-service is atrocious, and i need to consider a new startup. blogger is down constantly. thing is always breaking in one way or another. atrocious seems an appropriate word. the entire blogger team should have been fired years ago, along with Sergey and Larry for allowing such crap out the door.

as for your black videos - never heard of that problem. as for probs embedding videos in your blogger blog - of course - this _is_ blogger we're talking about. once you paste your embed code, you can't use the 'Preview' feature - fries your embed code by removing the ending 'embed' tag. may also happen when you save a draft and come back to it.
