Well, Christoph from 103bes.com made some 'new feature' announcements and Darren Rowse has already picked up the news.
But let's face it; You can't use every single counter and analytics tool.
I am using a lot of them but I want to reduce that bulk of client side executed Javascript code.
Now at the end of the summer it's time to say good bye to some of them ...
New 103bees features
- Pay-per-Click (PPC) count. Add ?103bees=ppc to any link and it will be counted separately and show off in blue.
- Hint I: The referrers don't play a role. So you an add it i.e. also to any link you leave in comments to show off that traffic.
- Suggestion: If Christoph would add more IDs then just 'ppc' this could become a nice feature to track some more sources. I am not sure if it would be nice for the UI simplicity but it would be something useful like the channels in Adsense.
- Hint II: Use 103bees projects to track different parts of your site or even single pages for inbound SE traffic
- Ranking info: This easier to see then to explain. A new page shows top keyword phrases grouped by ranking (rankings 1-10, 11-20, ...). Follow info shows which landing pages were hit and which SE triggered the hit. Very nice overview for some 'long tail' SEO :-)
- Top landing pages shows (since a couple of weeks) traffic graphs, keyword phrases and single keywords (new) for every single landing page.
- Top single keywords can be seen as a list with hit count or as a keyword cloud. A click on a keyword in the cloud is followed by the top related single keywords with the percentage.
On 30th of August 103bes has moved to a new server and on September 2nd Christoph announced Yes, we’re open (again). If you like an easy to understand "SE inbound traffic analytics tool" you may want to throw a look :-)

At least two counters have to go ...
Has 103bees been useful for you? Frankly speaking I am using five counters plus AdSense right now and this is definitely too much client side Javascript.
Counters: PMetrics will stay and Google Analytics will have to go. I simply don't need all the whistles and bells GA has to offer. The performancing crew is doing a great job and I don't care about the little issues like the 23h day or the timezone.
Then I still have a German service called blogscout.de but this is more a local ranking service then a serious counter for me. A lot of sympathy for the service but not really useful for me. I'll wait a couple of days before I make the decision, but ...
SE inbound analytics: HitTail proves to be a great and very productive help to me and I think 103bees will have to go despite the fact that I like 103bees very much but all those client side Javascript calls are too much.
Well, I am a very spontaneous person and all those decisions might look different in a couple of hours.
Decision help?

"The performancing crew is doing a great job" Very kind of you to continue to support us Markus, thanks!
PMetrics gives me nice
PMetrics gives me nice numbers in a nice overview. Google Analytics is great but more something for people who get paid to meditate over statistics (beside all the Google discussion).
Just a little update ...
Just a little update ... Everything is different now :-)
I am using 103bees and blogscout.de on a daily basis.
The best and most compressed information available are offered by those two tools. Blogscout is only for German blogs.
HitTail somehow faded but is still counting.
Google analytics is counting but offers too much detail :-)
I am double checking the data roughly with google AdSense.
I also tried to setup an automatic procedure for my generic logfiles but this is too much work compared to the simple approach of the javascript tools.
I really miss PMetrics!
