Drupal, the software that runs this great site, has just released version 4.7.0. This is the first major release in over a year and it is a whopper of a release. Besides the great new features, usability improvements, better security and performance, the real gold lies in the fact that it is now easier to write custom themes and modules. So check it out, and be sure to give the Performancing Firefox plugin a test run with the new-shiny 4.7 to make sure everything is working right.

PS if you want to show how much you love Drupal, Digg it here.

Awesome! It'll be a while

Awesome!

It'll be a while before we upgrade at performancing, but im already using it on a personal blog that has "theme issues" (i cant design..) and it ROCKS..

I just dugg it Robert

Hey - Drupal 4.7 really rocks! Noone can take that away from the Drupal developers.
I just arranged for a Drupal Denmark (www.drupaldanmark.dk) meetup later this month, so Nick - if you want to join - go to Copenhagen.
Else let's meet some day to chat. I'm going "Free Agent" now.

Great news. The only shame

Great news. The only shame is most people (us included) will not upgrade for a while because so much will break, meaning there will be two main versions supported for quite some time.

I will be upgrading my dslr photography site as soon as I get chance though!

Awesome!

How about getting that drupal performancing module on the 4.7x list?

1/2 a whole number there

I'm running (4.6.5). I do like Drupal! Way more flexible than some. Is it worth the trouble of losing all your custom code? Or do you know when 4.7.5 or 4.8 will come out? (trying to be funny). I guess I'm wondering if it would be worth the trouble?
Have a good one and have fun with the new toy!
