Hello,-

can anyone advise me about selling paid text link ads? Last month, my blog's stats were as follows:

Total Visits: 1705
Total Unique Sites: 668
Total Unique URLs: 570
Average Visits per Day: 55

Is it reasonable to sell ads for USD 30 for the front (default / index) page and 15 USD for other pages, on the condition that the text links will stay permanently and this would be a one-time fee?

Are permanent-showing ads commonplace? I have received an offer described above so I could use a couple of hints regarding whether this would be a good deal.

Much thanks,
Vahagn

Permanent links are a joke.

Permanent links are a joke. While links on your blog may not be worth much now, what's to say they won't be worth three times as much 6 months from now? Are you going to quit working on your blog and cash out over $30?

By going the permanent route, you're limiting your options further down the road. Go monthly and adjust prices as your traffic and pagerank increases.

best,
j

Thanks j. I must admit it

Thanks j. I must admit it did sound strange to use my blog as a wall to put graffiti on, when everything on the Internet is changing almost on a daily basis.

Cheers, Vahagn

I'd charge a monthly fee and

I'd charge a monthly fee and sell the links in six to twelve month blocks. I'm at about 300 Visitors a day and charge $25/month. I plan to raise the prices a gain soon though.
