Hi all. I'm looking to make some money out of blogging. Currently, I'm stuck with Wordpress.com's no-JavaScript policy. Are there any money-making options considering this restriction? Anyone aware?

If you're looking at making money surely you'll want to use something more pro than wordpress.com?
You can still use wordpress blog software but host it on your own server.
I think the best to be totally free and having space enough (WP only gives out 50 Megs) is to get a hosting package like (www.hostdepartment.com - www.worldispnetwork.com) that offer real unlimited (I am actually over 35 Gigs datas onmy space) for 6.95 months.
When you have this, register a domain and start installing your WP and your plugins.
I have my WP with 19 plugins like Forum etc etc

You wanna consider getting your own domain, web hosting and doing it more professional. It's better than way. Content will be more focused. More or less USD300 will keep you ongoing for 2 years.
I run my Wordpress blog on external hosting ( NO_AFFILIATE_LINKS ) I would recommend them as they do have autoinstallers as well as being good value for money. And yes that link does help out my charity site with extended hosting if you sign up!
If you take a look at the NetXperiment blog you will see I have added a CafePress widget to the sidebar to help others who are raising money into the cause, care and cure for Multiple Sclerosis

Its against WordPress.com's TOS in general to make money from one of their free blogs. If they catch you putting almost any type of advertising on a free site in on of their domains, they will typically send you a nasty email, and then delete your blog in about 7 days.
Steps to take
Never ever ever advertise on a free wordpress.com subdomain.
If you have a great blog or idea, push it to a hosted domain and install the wordpress software, this is fine with wordpress and you won't get deleted
If you can't afford a domain (they only cost about $50 a year total and you can make that in a month, possibly a week of blogging) then I would highly recommend setting up a free account on blogger. Google won't delete your blog for running advertising on a blogger blog, because google want's people to advertise on blogger blogs. They would prefer a monopoly and so they do some silly posturing (see Matt Cutt's blog) but the bottom line is that their bottom line gets nice, fat and profitable from advertising.
TLA just turned their program back on for new blogger blogs (was down for a couple weeks, but back up now, so you can use them, any of the sponsored article companies, adsense, chitika, kanoodle, yada yada yada. ;)
Brett, you should clarify your claim that "you can make that in a month, possibly a week blogging". I think I know what you mean, but I can also disprove that general claim. Care to clarify how, so a whole bunch of new bloggers don't get depressed when they find out it initially takes a lot longer than that?

Lost track of this thread.
A person can set up a PR0 blog and within a period of 1 - 12 weeks start earning $10 - $50 per day from that blog writing sponsored articles and reviews.
Results will vary from one blog to another and from one writer to another, but it is possible to get accepted with several of the companies that pay bloggers for this work.
Many people will tell you that it can't be done with a PR0 blog. That is not true.
Some people will pay for a link on a PR0 blog and for good reason. One, the blog may not stay at PR0 for long, there's no where to go but up.
Also from a technorati and backlink perspective a link is a link.
Now in addition to this, you could even do the same thing without ever starting a blog at all.
Not being combative, but in my experience, you need at least a PR3 to be qualified for "pay per post". So I can't see how you could do this in 1 week? Even if you start today, the next PR rollout isn't until the end of July. Also, those services that don't use PR and traffic as qualifying metrics need at least 20 days of blogging.
Since you say "That is not true," if you know of any services that newbies can use, I'm sure they'd appreciate it if you (or anyone) listed them. I've never heard of any. The only way I know that a newbie can make money blogging immediately is to find a site that needs them to write. That I'll agree with.

There is about 1 new paid to blog / post type of company that starts up every month, sometimes 1 per week.
If you pay attention and sign up, in the early days, they are often times more lax and will take new blogs.
As to PR, PayPerPost will take a PR0 blog, but it needs to be 90 days old and have 20 articles and can't be all about just making money. PayU2Blog will sometimes take PR0 blogs as well. I really like PayU2Blog because they keep things Oh, so very very very simple and give the most freedom to bloggers writing styles.
Blogitive's new directory also lessoned the requirements. Instead of waiting 90 days, you can get in under 30 days with them.
All that said, anyone could go write for Associated Content today, and get their first payment in about 5-7 days. You don't need a blog at all. If you want a personal invitation, email me. ;)
Not to toot my own horn too much, but the LinkyLoveArmy (Division of my company Softduit Partners) accepts brand new blogs for some of our campaigns. Blog can be 1 day old and PR0 and we will accept the blog. This only counts for link building campaigns that we run. For our campaigns where we pay bloggers for promoting Published articles, things are much more selective, but at least we give new bloggers a place to start.
In addition, Under my Revenue Tools section at Softduit, I have a couple other services that take new blogs also.

yeah but
Dreamhost has a ton of great features, but they are down far too often.
