I would like my blog to come out when a search is being made for topics related to my features. I have topics about Cebuano or Bisayan dishes, but whenever I tried to search let's say for Banana Cue or Utan Bisaya, my blog would not come out. Because I am not a techie, admittedly I am having difficulties. Although I find some advises interesting and helpful, I feel that I still need help. Anyway, I have been keeping tabs in forums like this for updates and references.

there should be a feature for you to directly edit html of your site. search for a tag "...", in between this tag would normally be the name of your blog. You can add keywords to this such as a brief description of your blog. Keep it really simple while making sure the correct keywords are applied. This should allow for search engines like google to catch em.
Owh...another trick is to submit your site to search engines....it is under webmaster tools in google.
