How to find your blog on Performancing

  1. You are logged in
  2. In the sidebar you can see your personal navigation below your name. Important is 'blogs'. Clicking on 'blogs' opens a list of the latest blog entries users have published on performancing.com.
  3. After clicking on 'blogs' you will see a sub menu entry titled 'My Blog' below 'blogs'. This is the #1 hidden menu entry to reach your personal blog. The #2 hidden menu entry is on your profile page.

How to publish to your blog

  • A beginner will start with an empty blog.
  • On the top of your blog you see a shortcut link Post to your blog. The same is possible by choosing Create content from your personal menu and choosing 'Blog entry'. 'Forum entry' is another choice.
  • performancing.com offers you a basic HTML editor form where you can add your blog entry title, a comma separated list of keywords and the body of your article. Feel free to use your own HTML editor and copy & paste the source code into the form.

Use the preview function before publishing!

What to write about?

  • If you are new on performancing.com or you don't know what to blog about here: There are some simple hints how to get into the performancing.com flow. After a while you will be adding articles on your personal performancing.com blog as a natural way of exchanging knowledge.
  • Just follow the tracker and get a feeling what people are interested in and writing about. Use YOUR comments on articles as an indicator when to write a separate blog entry.
  • Rule of thumb: You start writing a comment which gets lengthy. Copy & paste that comment into a new blog entry and convert it into a full grown article. In the original comment just leave a follow-up note (two examples). Writing a follow-up is exactly what I am doing right now! If you see a question of another user then ask yourself if you can answer that question.
  • Remember: The motto is 'Helping Bloggers Succeed'. Everything related to blogging practice is welcome. Cat content is not!
  • Reminder: If you were inspired by one or more articles (on performancing.com or somewhere else) leave a 'follow-up' or 'manual trackback' comment below the inspirational article.
