I'd love to get some feedback about what kind of features Performancers would like to see in a blog plugin ala PMetrics. I'm working on both a WordPress plugin as well as an ARIA (AJAX Rich Internet Application) fat client for viewing PMetrics and Feedburner stats, which I'll give away for free.
I don't have the time to write Drupal or other platforms, but I'm hoping that someone familiar with Drupal, Textpattern, MovableType, etc., will take my PHP and mySQL code and port it over.
The ARIA PMetrics Viewer, however, should function in any browser, but you may need to download a large (but free) Ajax framework to use it.
Let the wishlist begin... I'll incorporate as many features as I can, over a staggered release pattern.

Use cases
Raj, are you interested more in "logical features" requests - what kind of analysis we'd like to perform; or in "service features" requests - integration, UI, analysis history etc?
PMetrics
Raj,
I'm working on adding the API reporting to the PMetrics plugin already. Is there anything else you think is missing that you're putting in your WordPress plugin? Is it possible for us to collaborate?
Flash versions & Who links me & Cities
These are primal features that I always look in a statistics system:
- Be able to see the Flash versions installed by the visitors (like it does with its browsers, screens res)
- Be able to see the URLs that have links to my different pages, and the # of links per each URL. With this I can see if my new buttons and banners are effective in gaining more people linking me, or if my last post has gain more linking from other blog's posts ... or if somebody is "hotlinking" my images, and where this is happening.
- See the cities in the geography table.
Congratulations!!! I hope performancing metrics will become the best stats solution not only for blogs, but for any website online ^^
Not plugin...yet
That's something the Metrics script has to pick up first, not the plugin. By the way, I'm willing to port scripts over to a Drupal module.
I dont think we will be
I dont think we will be looking at flash versions for a while as flash is just not very popular on blogs - 80-20% rule and all that
Cities on the geography page is on our roadmap but not as high a priority as perhaps you would like, I can see it being added to the extended (more than 5) recent visitors page though
You might be pleasantly surprised by what we have in store for the individual urls.
Not sure if we could ever pick up people hot linking graphics though - that is more the domain of log analysis I think
Nice!!! and one more Feature in mind
Flash versions:
Owwww ... I saw quite a lot of people that use Flashblog and to know the flash version is very useful for the new boom: "videoblogs" like CommandN
Cities:
"I can see it being added to the extended (more than 5) recent visitors page though"
That would be great!
Linking me:
I hope you have good surprises in this one!
About the hotlinking, lets cross-fingers to find one neat solution in this one.
Hurray:
I've been using Performancing Metrics just a few hours ago.. and I am loving it ^_^
**I have a new request**
I host many blogs from other clients or friends, so it would be great to be able to add a new user to each blog. So I can see al the blgos under my login, an they can see only eachothers.
For example:
Title Type Operations
BlogName1 wordpress metrics edit delete script add-user
BlogName2 wordpress metrics edit delete script add-user
BlogName3 wordpress metrics edit delete script add-user
BlogName4 wordpress metrics edit delete script add-user
I will see BlogName1-4 stats, and my friends/clients can only see theirs(BlogName#). (Because the public stats doesn't show all the info)
Hadn't thought of video
Hadn't thought of video blogs, yes I guess flash detection helps in that case.
We have blog network features in the works and a public stats page feature about to be put out, those might help with the last question.
Public: Full Stats - Summary Stats
Actually Public stats only shows a few general info, a summary, and not the good stuff like today info, las week, last month, geography, browsers, platforms, etc.
Maybe adding the options: "Having Full Stats Public", and "Having a Summary Stats Public" will be a nice solution.
New Features
Other than cities, which someone else has mentioned, I would like to have a way to block my own visits from my stats (cookie, IP blocking, etc)
:(

?
?
what's with the last two comments?
huh :?
@godsgeek: I'll have to determine if the IP addresses are stored or not.
@Dave Reid: Dave, since your plugin is a bit more mature, and since you never responded to my PM of about 2 months ago :), is it okay if I look over your code and work on a mashup with a different type of graphing? If not, I'll put off this project for now and work on a different mashup to show stats in a compact, graphical manner.
Oh crap...sorry I haven't
Oh crap...sorry I haven't responded. I'm a little more effective over e-mail. Sure, you sure can look over the code.
thanks Dave
I'm going to be blending/ mashing the Sparklines graphing plugin with your PMetrics plugin. It's actually darn simple; I just have to find the time, and hack the code to show the graphs sideways, etc.
