Wish you could post to a blog with Performancing?

Jed's Performancing for Firefox extension has been great for me that last year or so. Lately I've been wishing that I could post to some other blogs/journals:

  • Xanga - very closed system. I posted a forum topic that I'm starting a 'workaround' project to be able to post from Performancing. The only feature complete is authentication, but development is slow because Xanga likes to secure your account (add a captcha) after a few failed attempts of authentication. I can't work around that and I just have to wait for the secure period (usually an hour or so) to go away. *ruff*
  • Last.fm journal - I found this tidbit on the Last.fm/Audioscrobbler web services page:

We currently support a subset of the Live Journal Protocol for uploading and querying journal posts. Challenge authentication is not currently supported as we don't hold an un-hashed copy of the user's password so you'll have to make do with clear and cookie. I'm sure you'll survive but if this proves to be a huge problem let us know and we'll try to sort it out. Only the dlat interface is supported, if enough people can give enough of a reason to support the XML-RPC interface we'll put it on our list but until then, we just don't support it. Not all methods make sense in our context so below is a list of the methods that we support: * login * editevent * getdaycounts * getevents * getfriends * postevent The URL for the interface is http://wsdev.audioscrobbler.com/interface/flat/

  • Newsvine
I had e-mailed the developers about adding a way to post to your Newsvine seed via XML-RPC. They replied that it would 'probably happen sometime down the road.' So in other words, it's not important enough.

Maybe we could organize campaigns for services to support Performancing (and other blog editors via XML-RPC). Are there any blogs/journals that you find yourself wishing you could post to using Performancing for Firefox?

No :-) I would like the blog

No :-)

I would like the blog systems different API to support more of the individual features like the extended fields in Textpattern.
