Hook a brutha up! I'm going to ask for special consideration. Rand Fishkin intentionally ranked for my name last Fall because he didn't like an article I'd written a year earlier. I got a lot of attention for a month, mostly bad. I could use a refresh... a new look... a new identity.
As you can tell by visiting, www.culturefeast.com uses a Pearsonified theme that doesn't even look right in Firefox! I've got Top Links hangin' out on the far right beyond the sidebar, and I can't even fix it (deleting that section of code makes the sidebar disappear).
CultureFeast is a blog about, well, culture. We talk sports, politics, religion, music, television, movies, relationships, and fashion, paying special attention to Dallas. No, it's not as focused as it could be, and I've considered narrowing its scope. But how specific can I be without losing most of my traffic?
I can tell you what 7k of my 8-9k visitors per month come for. I found a clothing store with a "website under construction" sign on the homepage, so I wrote about it. It's a really popular teenage styles clothing store that has no website! I wrote a couple blogs and started asking visitors to comment and tell me what functionalities they were hoping to get from the site. My site ranks in the top 5 for the store name on Google, so I get 7k+ monthly visitors to 3 of my blog posts alone. All 280+ of my other posts only generate 1K visitors per month.
Reboot my blog, please! I need style. I need focus. I need serious advice. This blog domain was purchased in Oct-Nov of 2005. I originally used the Beckett theme, which lasted for a year. The past six months has been the Cutline theme.
I've tried Google Adsense and Amazon, and I don't make squat. I've made $35 in a year and a half. Granted, I'm not sure there's a money making topic in my blog, but if you can wave your wand and work some magic, my wife will stop beating me with a cane for spending so much time on a site that makes no money.
