What Yahoo! Pipes Really Mean

Every tech blog worth their salt are talking about Yahoo! Pipes, but if you really want to understand the significance of this programmable OS then check out Tim O'Reilly's piece.

As soon as the service is back up, head on over and build something awesome :)


Pipes is a brilliant idea

Pipes is a brilliant idea whose time has come. As a former Unix/ Linux programmer, I always despised having to use DOS and Windows because of its lack of a robust shell.

After XML appeared, followed by SOAP for web services, I figured it couldn't be long before the Web had it's own way to pass information from multiple sources through various user-defined filters to produce a new "view" of information.

Bravo to Yahoo! and their Pipes. Will their stock rise because of this? It just might.
