Part of a mail signature which reached me some minutes ago:
This email is: [ ] bloggable / [ ] private / [X] (ask first)
I like that simple form very much because of the one line which says all. You may see this as a follow-up snippet to the pretty complicated thread which was kicked off by Ryan with one of his famous 'simple questions'.

Seriously, yes, I think people should specify whether their correspondents can blog about the content of their messages. But by default I think email should be assumed to be private, and can information can only be disclosed with prior consent, unless the nature of the message is public.

Some bloggers blogged about live conversations where the start was the question "bloggable or not" or "hey, but this is not meant to be blogged". What a brave new world we are living in right now.
