We are currently in search of a Social Media & PR Coordinator for a Nonprofit Foundation/Organization. This is a remote, part-time, temporary assignment. ORGANIZATION TYPE: Nonprofit Foundation/Organization

LOCATION: Remote Office/Work from Home

POSITION TITLE: Social Media & PR Coordinator

SALARY: $13.75/hour

HOURS: 10 hours/week

DURATION: 2-3 months

POSITION OVERVIEW: The Social Media & PR Coordinator will be responsible for managing strategic digital communications, marketing, and public relations initiatives to support the organization's mission.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist with maintaining and development of the organization's web site and social media initiatives
  • Maintain updates to social media accounts including Facebook and Twitter
  • Develop and implement multi-media campaigns
  • Maintain consistent brand imaging
  • Partner with internal staff to ensure proper online messaging and relevancy, ensure consistency of messages across multiple networks, preparing reports to update internal team on usage statistics and continuing monitoring and engagement on all sites
  • Assist with weekly reporting and analysis of social engagement
  • Help draft consistent and compelling messaging to activists and supporters
  • Help draft press releases and other external communications as needed
  • Research best practices, emerging technology and other new opportunities
  • Research public speaking engagements of relevance to the organization
ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree in related field (Journalism, Communications, Marketing, etc.) is required
  • Minimum 2 years of professional experience in a communications role
  • Experience using social media in a professional setting is required
  • Excellent written communications skills are required
  • Monitor web content on several sites, develop new content
  • Experience with website maintenance a big plus!!
  • Ability to work independently, and with minimal direct supervision
  • Must be a self-starter
