Sister publications Subscription Site Central and Subscription Site Insider are looking to hire an ace business reporter to work part-time (approximately 15 hours a week). This is a work-from-home position (with the emphasis on "work") that's a great way to build a notable brand and profile in the paid content industry. DC-area professionals preferred, but we'll make an exception for a stellar candidate!

 

Responsibilities include:
- Writing in-depth (2,000-4,000 words) premium content each week
- Blogging 2-3 times a week
- Pitching story ideas and cultivating sources
- Social media posting and lightweight digital production (i.e., creating charts, infographics, etc.)
- Assisting with research and writing on our popular Benchmark Reports
- Some light proofing

- Possible opportunities to speak on Webinars and at industry conferences

 

We’re a B2B publication serving marketers, publishers and audience development specialists at noteworthy digital subscription publications. Some of our premium members include professionals from The Motley Fool, The Boston Globe and The Financial Times.

 

This is a GREAT opportunity for a writer/journalist looking to develop an industry-recognized platform and launch their career as a paid content expert.

 

Salary range: $350-$450/week.

Desired Skills and Experience




- Solid writing, editing and proofing skills (we use a modified AP style)
- 1-3 years experience reporting or writing for B2B publications or for the business section of a B2C publication
- Curiosity about how metered sites and digital publications can stay viable in a changing media landscape
- Ability to pitch and develop sources via phone, email and in-person
- Love for data (writing about it, collecting it, interpreting it)
- Enjoy writing “how-to” content that’s informational and easy to implement
- Familiarity with uploading and managing content in WordPress
- Self-motivated to work from home efficiently and effectively (we’re serious about the 15 hours — you might even go over).
- Above-average proficiency with social media
- Willingness to re-write

- Ability to work well with marketing and tech departments
