Consumers Digest/ConsumersDigest.com seeks an experienced financial journalist to scrutinize news from the personal-finance realm for our publication’s Your Money department. These can include, but aren’t limited to, banking, credit cards, the cost of education, financial planning, investments, real estate, retirement, savings strategies and taxes. The freelance reporter whom we hire will provide 12 focused ideas at least two weeks prior to first-draft deadline. The 12 ideas will include a concept based on a celebrity interview, in which the discussion will focus on a “lesson learned” that will give typical consumers insight on how better to manage some aspect of personal finance. Ten of the ideas will be developed into short items of 50 to 250 words, totaling 2,000 words. Payment is at a per-word rate. Candidates who don’t provide their required per-word rate won’t be considered.
