Are you using i.e. Google personal maps?
How do you promote your maps?
Ongopongo is a specialized directory for maps with some digg-like features.
When Google made the 'My Maps' service public in April 2007 (Map-making: So easy a caveman could do it) it only took a very short while until Riley created Ongopongo. This Drupal driven site is a kind of specialized digg clone for links to maps. As far as I have checked out Ongopongo all of the submitted maps are hosted on the Google My Maps service. But you can submit every kind of map because Ongopongo takes links as submission.
Don't expect explanations for the name Ongopongo from me :)
About Ongopongo
Basically a map owner can use Ongopongo as a 'shoot and forget' service. Submit your entry and you are done. More is possible but you don't have to participate in the community if you don't want to. Basic community features are commenting the maps and voting maps up or down.
You can create your own maps and browse millions of maps online. We're just trying to make it easier to sort through them all. Google My Maps is a great way to create maps, but there are other websites that you can use.
Ongopongo accepts links to any kind of map. After finding or creating a map, submit a link to the map with a title and short description. Share maps with any kind of content, but please make sure it's a direct link to at least one map.

Submit a map to Ongopongo
- Register with this invitation link
- Go to Submit your map
- Fill out the form (title, map link, region, description & keywords)
- (Optional) Even scheduling features for the entry are available. This way an event like a fair could be published in time and unpublished afterwards.
- Preview and Submit
The map submission process shouldn't take longer than five minutes and your map is listed. Repeat if you have more than one map to list.
I would strongly recommend to 1st submit your map and afterwards stroll around on Ongopongo, visit other maps entries and leave some comments. This will help your map to get some initial boost. The more positive votes you get the higher you will rank on the Ongopongo directory lists!
Which other services do you know where you can submit your maps?
