I have another 11 uses, but I'd like to see what Hive members have to say before I add my new items.
Okay, I'm partly kidding. What I wanted to know is what ways do you use, or would like to use, WordPress? For my monthly "resource" article on Performancing, Ryan has asked me to write "25 Unique Ways to Use WordPress".
Here is what I have so far:
1. blog
2. site - non-chrono pages, possibly using a magazine theme.
3. Popurls clone.
4. Twitter clone.
5. Contact manager.
6. CSS gallery.
7. Image gallery.
8. City guide.
9. Article assignment system.
10. Webcasting station, with a single media player occupying all of the homepage.
11. Media (CD, DVD, books, software, collectibles) collection manager (basically a database manager for a specific item.)
12. Movie trailer site, using SproutBuilder's Flash prototyping web tool.
Note that some of these require custom database coding in the WP theme or original plugins. That's okay. I'm basically looking to see what other ways you, the blogger, might like to use WP's database and content mgmt features. Just the idea. I will actually discuss how WP can be tweaked to do the job. And if there's time, i might even have some real examples to link to - at least for the ones not requiring custom database code.

Here's an example of using WP for a "traditional" site I just finished for a client. You really wouldn't know this was built on WP:
http://www.twistnshout.com/twist
No custom DB code, just plenty of templates.
You could use it as a:
Storefront
Glorified forum/chat
I use it as your everyday blog.
I'm impressed with what Camacho Cigars did with it. They built their entire site on WordPress. http://camachocigars.com If you want to talk with them I can get you in touch with their directory of marketing.
Excellent examples!! Thank you both.
Char: "Storefront" is what I needed to make 25 items (though i have several more for a total of 29 so far)
@rdash - glad my brain was functioning enough to be of help this morning
@bgreenway - thanks! I plan on posting about it sometime soon - complete with screen shots of what is going on in the background.
Well, I've been using http://BattlingForHealth.com "root" blog to aggregate all the posts of the subdomains, in case some just wants to subscribe to one RSS feed instead of 13 different feeds.. Same for http://AndYouWill.com
I've been doing that since Jan/06 .. aggregating all my blogs over at http://HART-Network.com but after 7000 posts I stopped it last October when I upgraded to a dedicated server as it just started to get to be too much in one feed.
