    Question Blog 'template' page missing

    Hi,

I've messed up and lost the one page in my blog that has the actual blog function, ie posting and commenting. The rest of my blog is static.

I can't figure out how to create another page to replace this one, as 'blog' is not under the templates option for pages. Please tell me there's a way to make another one. I feel stupid but can't remember how I lost it...

Any clues please. I'm stuck. Huge thanks.

Why don't you download the original files and use the code in index.php? Also, if it helps, the code in archive.php should be similar enough.

I see the above code in my index code already, but i think my problem is that I've managed to remove the actual blog page itself, so that when I bring up my list of pages, some of which are static, or the archive one, etc, I no longer have a 'blog style' page.

I can't work out how to create a new 'blog style page'. The code you suggested would work fine if there were a blog page to connect to, but there isn't.

Please tell me you have an answer? It's the very last problem in my blog.

Does this sound silly or am I missing something? I've managed to work most things out but this has me stumped.

Hmm, you mentioned in your first post that you're missing the posting and commenting. So are you missing the single.php template too? Sorry I'm not sure what you mean by "blog style page", if it's the list of blog posts or the single post.

If you mean the blog posts, isn't that the homepage, or did you set a different page to contain the blog posts? Because you need to set that in the WP admin (Settings > Reading, I believe). I'm not sure if you're referring to a Cutline problem or a WP problem.
