Thread: Image Size Problems!

    Default Image Size Problems!

I'm currently using the single-sidebar version of Cutline, and tried modifying the over-all container width to 990px. The main content area (for posts) was widened to 600px and it all went well... until I tried to resize my images. I changed the width of "large" images from 485px to 585px in settings/media, but when I go to a post to apply the new size, Wordpress shows (in the "add an image" window) that large is still 485px wide, even though I can go back into settings and see that it says 585px. I don't think that Cutline is to blame, but I'd like to know what's going on here. Has anyone else encountered this?

WP doesn't resize previously uploaded images, unfortunately. I think there's a plugin that does batch resizing though. Try searching the WordPress.org for that.

I also think in WP 2.9 it will be able to support that, but I'm not sure.

    Default Image Size Problems

Ok, I gotta another question. Haha, ok. How do I make a picture like 6kb? I go to image size, and I can make it so it says its only 5.86....kb but then when I save it, it says its 40kb. Its probably a real easy solution, but i cant figure it out. Thanks

That's odd. You might be looking at a thumbnail and then downloading the larger size image that's why the sizes are different. What's the URL of the image you're referring to?

Though I'm not sure WordPress or Cutline has anything to do with this. You'll probably need an image editor that can optimize image sizes.
