Good luck, David. I sent you a msg and wanted to get your email again.
.... scary stuff.
Though you probably wonder what I mean by 'live'?
I am quitting my job, or rather, I have quit and am currently working my notice up to the end of August.
After years of getting different things off the ground I am finally in a position to start riding that and then build exponetially better than I have done in the past.
As part of this I play to build myself as my 'brand' so that as I flow from project to project I wont need to keep building up an entirely new proposition and reputation as I can bring my of that with my name and previous work. At least that is the plan.
For anyone else doing the same or thinking of doing so, there are some great articles about personal brand building on mashable.
Indeed if there is anyone on here that can offer some advice on building yourself as a brand, or mistakes / pitfalls it would be great to hear!
Anyway, just wanted to 'shout it out' a bit as I am very exciting and now trying to bring myself back down to reality as I know its not going to be easy sailing

David
P.s
this is why I have been very quiet around here for a few months.
Also, Ryan, I believe you wanted a website? I will now be in a position to do all that from september the 1st if you still have a requirement.
P.p.s
please ping me / leave your twitter handles / follow me and say hi if you like![]()
Good luck, David. I sent you a msg and wanted to get your email again.
Thanks.
It's not so much brave, as calculated as much as possible.
Technically, even a normal day job is a risk, at least for the first 3 months when they could drop you at any moment.
If anything this is less of a risk in many ways, just a little more involved.
The excitement and control beats out any other factors if it's a passion rather than a chore.![]()
