Default LAUNCH: DogPod - would love thoughts! :)

    Hey all.

Spent the weekend (and yesterdays snow day here in the UK) chucking together a new site related to dogs.

At the moment it is 100% e-commerce but I am about to chuck on a blog, articles, etc followed in the future by a forum and so on.

I would love to get your thoughts, comments and suggestions if you have 2 mins.

You can see the site here.

    P.s
if anyone has any dog related sites and fancies doing some cross worketc or knows of any good dog product suppliers in the UK lets talk

    Nice looking site, David.

On Firefox 3 (Mac version) the navigation bar sticks out at the right beyond the right hand boundary.

I just gave you another Stumble.

Thanks tracy. Any chance you can get a screen capture up on tinypic or something and PM me the link?

    Thanks!

I'm interested in the bottom right corner - the feedback service. Have you used Kampyle before? Have you got any feedback for us (!) on how it works for you?

(Nav bar looks fine in FF3/PC version)

I think the site looks very smart - very professional and trustworthy. Important in a shopping site. I love the scroll to zoom feature and the extra pics, as I really like to see these on shopping sites, and the scroll to zoom thing is new to me (click to zoom, though, is fairly standard). (Can you see my interest in website comparison coming out here?)

However, your about page is blank - well, it says 'content' - and I would recommend filling this out as soon as possible, even if only with basic information, as this would affect your trust-rating. (And Harbour Way should have leading capitals on your Contact Us page - oops, now my inner proofreader is showing)

Final suggestion: if anyone on your team has time, I'd suggest spending a few minutes beefing up your search terms tag cloud by running a few searches, using keywords, so that the site looks more 'used'.

Lucy you star! I knew I had forgotten something! Will get that about page sorted asap.

Thank you for the kind comments, really nice to have some feedback.

As for the tag cloud, that is on the list, users can submit tags for products and then we approve them... they then show in the cloud. Unless you mean the search phrases page in which case that should start growing as we just switched on ad words today and should be in google within the next 24 hours or so. Already in google base.

    THank you again!

Oh, and regarding kemble, I only put it on a couple of days ago. Impressed so far and its a nice touch, more for trust than use I expect but will see once feedback starts coming in.

Anyone got any thoughts on good places to register / join to get decent trust badges etc for shopping. Gone for the usual freeindex, shopmania etc and will look at ISIS in the future but that costs.

D'oh. does that help? I never think of stuff like that.

I'm not familiar with companies in the UK for pet supplies ... but, for my own http://petcare.HARTmarket.com I am using SAS, CJ and Pepperjam.

In UK Affiliate Window is big you might want to look there for products ..
    http://www.affiliatewindow.com/merchant_directory.php (search pets)

There's also a WebGains for UK affiliated products and companies .. I have not tried anything other than North American companies.

Thanks hart. Alas I need drop shippers rather than wholesalers, general suppliers or affiliates at the moment.

And I am aware of aff window... often running stands next to them at exhibtions in london

Will be setting up some affiliate schemes in the near future, shall I ping you details when I do? Or rather, what makes an affiliate scheme attractive to you?
