seo matters. but it should be done with a scalpel and not a sledge hammer
What I say about SEO is stop listening/reading and just start doing. All the time wasted on reading about "tricks" is just that. Time wasted.
You learn SEO by doing SEO. You just need a good feedback loop (e.g. watch your search referrals over time). Try things on a daily basis, see what works, what doesn't, keep paying attention, keep trying.
At the end of the day what matters? Here's the only thing I would recommend from an SEO perspective:
Try to think about what the user is going to search on and then come up with 3-5 variations on that phrase. Include all 3-5 variations in your text, while giving the user something useful that matches what she'll be searching for.
Basic Rules:
1. SEO is done on a page by page basis.
2. For each page, make sure there are variations on exact match phrases that a user might be searching for. Pick the best phrase and use it as your html title tag.
3. Link to each page with anchor text that uses the variations on the exact match phrases you included in the text as possible
4. Each of the pages on your site is greatly enhanced from an SEO perspective if your domain has a lot of authority (so building your site's authority is important)
Rule 5 is the most important:
Ignore all traffic but search traffic. If you take your eye of the ball, you're losing time.
i suggest to post 300 to 400 backlinks daily in higher PR sites
SEO defiantly helps, it has been proven time and time again. The evidence is in all of the upcoming successful SEO companies. Many large corporations are taking advantage of SEO to put their sites on top. I don't thinks so much money would be spent on SEO if it wasn't effective.
