Oratos Media is looking for bloggers for Gizbuzz, a blog covering mainly Web 2.0 and software. Gizbuzz was started on Blogger as a fun project, and moved over to its own domain in May. Since then we have gone from strength to strength. We have been on the front page of Digg, linked to from many A-list blogs including Google Blogoscoped, Read/WriteWeb, Ajaxian and InsideMicrosoft. We are also now crawled by TechMeme. We also have an accompanying podcast which has achieved considerable success in only four episodes. Most recently, we have interviewed two people from the Google Docs and Spreadsheets team.
In the past month Gizbuzz was a founding blog in the new Oratos blog network, and we have seen traffic rise significantly. In order to sustain this growth we have decided to advertise for bloggers to help us out. Applicants will need to be experts in the Web 2.0 world particularly, and interested in some aspect of software.
For details on how to apply, and what you get, see after the jump!
How to apply
If you're interested, get in touch at huw at oratos dot com. Initially, explain why you want to write for us, and give us brief details about any blogs you currently own/write for and any relevant experience. If you haven't got a blog to show us, then we will need a sample post on a topic which Gizbuzz covers. The test will be whether or not we want to post it on Gizbuzz!
What you get
At the moment, Oratos isn't serving adverts at all, and thus isn't making any money. However, we have a readership which does enable us to start thinking about serious advertising. We are in discussions with various people to enable this to happen.
Thus, your benefits in the short term will be:
- Publicity for your existing blog, through your author biography
- Valuable experience from working with people who are already respected within the blogosphere
- A ready-made readership for your posts. There's nothing worse than writing something great, only for it not to be read!
- If you're looking to become TechCrunch's next writer, you need to start somewhere!
Once Gizbuzz is serving ads, and overheads are covered, we will start paying you a share of income, based on your performance.
This is a great opportunity for an aspiring writer to work with an enthusiastic team which is achieving great results, even after a short period of time.
The email is huw at oratos dot com. Look forward to hearing from you!

@huw
Hi Huw, you need to clarify something. According to Perf Exchange rules, only blogs that are actually paying are allowed to list here on Perf Exchange. Can you please indicate if, for example, someone starts writing for you tomorrow, will they get paid? If not, I have to unfortunately remove this listing within the next 2 days.
Also, information about posting schedule (i.e., # posts per day), post word length, etc., should be indicated as well.
You cannot update the original posting, but you can add the above information in a comment below mine.
thanks,
raj
More details
What we are committing to is to pay bloggers in the medium term. So, if someone starts writing tomorrow they won't get paid tomorrow, but they will in the near future, once our tiny overheads have been covered by advertising which we are working on at the moment.
In terms of posts / day etc, a reasonable contribution is required - say 4 posts per week minimum, of a length which covers the topic well. Quality over quantity.
Hope this clarifies things.
Huw
Okay, but ...
Thanks Huw, but according to the way Perf Exchange is set up, you'll have to wait until you are actually paying bloggers to list a blog job here. I'll leave the listing up for a few more hours (until evening, New York time zone) in case you want to amend this, but after that I'll have to take the listing down.
thanks,
raj
