Web 2.0 and software bloggers wanted

Submitted by huwleslie on December 10, 2006 - 10:41pm in

Oratos Media is looking for bloggers for Gizbuzz, a blog covering mainly Web 2.0 and software. Gizbuzz was started on Blogger as a fun project, and moved over to its own domain in May. Since then we have gone from strength to strength. We have been on the front page of Digg, linked to from many A-list blogs including Google Blogoscoped, Read/WriteWeb, Ajaxian and InsideMicrosoft. We are also now crawled by TechMeme. We also have an accompanying podcast which has achieved considerable success in only four episodes. Most recently, we have interviewed two people from the Google Docs and Spreadsheets team.

In the past month Gizbuzz was a founding blog in the new Oratos blog network, and we have seen traffic rise significantly. In order to sustain this growth we have decided to advertise for bloggers to help us out. Applicants will need to be experts in the Web 2.0 world particularly, and interested in some aspect of software.

For details on how to apply, and what you get, see after the jump!

Need A Couple of Poker Bloggers

Submitted by Raj Dash on November 19, 2006 - 5:56am in

I need 1-3 poker and backgammon bloggers for thepokerblog.net. Number of posts per week depends on how many qualified bloggers I hire, but my total post budget is 3-6 per week as a starter, but may/ will grow. I will not give all posting assignments to a single blogger, though, unless they are really good. And dependable.

Payment per post is dependent on your poker/ backgammon blogging experience. Payment will be by Paypal ONLY (sorry), once a month, around the first or second week of each following month.

POKER
Topics are any type of poker but posts must be geared to newbies. This includes reviews of poker rooms. If you are a newbie poker player that has not blogged (about poker) but your samples are good, then you can also start off with "what I learned as a newbie poker player" types of posts. Tutorials are especially great. Card/ Game Theory is fine, too, if you're into the math aspects. Posts should be 200-600 words, average, but can be longer.

BACKGAMMON
I am also interested in posts about online backgammon, either for play money or real money. Tutorials, techniques, strategies, front game, end game, doubling cube. Backgammon will have a lower priority, about 1-2 posts/week maximum. Posts: 200-600 words, or longer.

GENERAL
Generally speaking, all posts (poker, backgammon) are geared at newbies, so you don't have to be a professional/ expert. Also acceptable: stories about the game, professionals, history and origins, tournaments, the monetary rewards, gear - anything that will appeal to a newbie, and sometimes advanced players. I may expand in the future to include other games that pay out.

If you are interested, write me (rdash001#at#yahoo#dot#ca) or PM me here. I'll be asking for 2 samples of your poker/ backgammon writing. Please don't send anything else, and don't send until I ask. I'm not overly concerned with grammar and spelling unless you are completely illiterate. I don't care where you are from, just as long as your writing is understandable. What I care more about is reliability, dependability, and original writing. I'm too busy with other projects to chase you.
