Zombie revival.

From FB: "Please note that maintaining multiple accounts is a violation of Facebook's Terms of Use."

You *can* have an account + professional "pages", but not two accounts.

I have just one account...and rarely do I use it for marketing straightforwardly. Oftentimes it's just to connect casually. Twitters who just post marketing ploys are often ignored.

A normal internet geek is having his or her account on many social media sites. At times handling these accounts become unmanageable. Now If one start duplicating his or her accounts it will be too much. I personally think there is now need to have seprate account for your personal and professional lives.

Nice think. But so far I just have one account on twitter. Perhaps I'll separate that if needed

I think it's too much work to maintain two Twitter accounts- Twitter can be a time-suck as it is. I am conscious of this issue though, as I have several clients who follow me. It's a reminder that if you "can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all." There is no reason to be ranting about clients in a public manner anyway.

I actually presented the question on separating my personal and professional blogs to my readers through my social networks and they all agreed on one thing: we like reading you because we see you as a person not as a commercial for the latest tech gadget or web app.

I believe this as well. When I receive notices from Twitter saying that I got new followers, I check out their profiles before following them. If they have the words "Internet Marketer" on their profiles and reading that most of their tweets are selling some product or seminar, I don't follow them. I have nothing against people who works as an Internet marketer for a living, it's just that I don't sense (in most of them) any humanity in their posts nor in their tweets. In short I want to follow an interesting person and not a TV ad commercial.

Excellent post and absolutely attention-grabbing. In my opinion, I totally agree with you on the point that entrepreneurs have to be extracareful with their online persona. Having a twitter or facebook account means that everybody: friends, relatives, enemies, clients, prospects can discover your "other side" or at least a side of you you probably won't let strangers know. Your reputation may be put at risk just because your twitter update shows you as unprofessional.

I think the professional activities in the tweeter is very important. because twiiter is the best place in our social activities. and one thing I do not agree if twiiter used only for personal activities

I think one can mix his personal twitter account onto his buisness account. Regardless, it's the network that's important.
