Hi,

I have recently updated a b2b portal, which is dynamic in nature. But I had used htaccess to render static URLs.
I had a google pr of 7 before I updated the site.

This is what has happened after updating the site completely.
- PR has gone down to 5
- 404 error is to the tune of 36788
- Inlinks on yahoo site explorer have gone down.

My question is how do I remove the 404 error from SERPs.
I have redirected all the 404 pages to the portals homepage.

Please advice.

you dont. let google sort

you dont.

let google sort it out.

it will take a little time.

You should try to take

You should try to take advantage of Google Sitemaps. I've noticed that it helps fully index my site and new/accurate pages show up in Google results.

Pardon me for butting in

If you're a WordPress (software) user, there's a wonderful Google Sitemap Generator that would auto-generate a sitemap and ping Google for you.
