The link function in Scribefire only allows the link to open in the same window. I know this is the "correct" way to do it, but is there any way to set them to open in a new window? My only option seems to be either to accept this or go to my blog and edit all the links made with Scribefire which entirely defeats the usefulness of Scribefire.
I guess a discussion on the merits or otherwise of having links open in a new window is inappropriate here and has been decided by the powers that be, but I still do strongly believe that it should be for publishers to decide how we want our sites to display. Users vote with their feet.
Ideally I'd like to be able to get the new window to be displayed as a smaller and cut down version of the user's browser display to avoid navigational confusion with the window they are currently reading (my blog!). Perhaps just include the address bar so they can copy and paste the address of the link to their main browser if they want. Then again they could always use Properties to do the same so maybe even that isn't necessary. The main thing is to make the new window look fundamentallyu distinct from the page from which it sprung.
