After 6 years in business WebHostingGeeks needed to use its website to generate more income. They came to Performancing in early 2010 for help with search engine optimization after becoming frustrated by higher and higher pay-per-click prices each month.
The company’s goal was to gain top rankings in the organic search engine results for the keywords from their pay-per-click (PPC) campaign. These are some of the most competitive keywords in the website hosting industry. To achieve this goal Web-Hosting Geeks needed great content with specific competitive keyword phrases that potential web hosting client’s would conduct search queries for.
The Performancing Campaign
Performancing put together both short-term and long-term plans to effectively capture their goal. First, we targeted less competitive keywords to gain quick top rankings and increase traffic to the site. At the same time, we targeted very competitive keywords that everyone else in the website hosting industry was after.
The link-building campaign involved directory registrations, static link building on partner websites and blogs along with contextual link building via unique content written by our team of bloggers and published on over 300 tech related blogs over a period of 4-6 months. Each phase of the campaign was crafted to fit the marketing message and included:
