That makes me giggle. I haven't even been able to blog for $1 yet (although I will not turn down the publisher that reads my blog and asks me to write a book - for pay!).

You are right, Raj. Writing a book is hard work and you have to write in order to get it accomplished. Since I have followed my passion and started writing, not a week goes by where I don't meet someone who says "I have an idea for a book but I haven't written it yet."

For me, blogging and books are two separate worlds right now.

i think to write a blog with the hope of getting a book deal is rather discouraging and frustrating. we should only look at it as reward, something like ... if it happens great but if it doesn't uuhhh who cares

blogging for a book deal is like blogging for AD dollars, these sort of blogs never get anywhere... blogging is about communicating, teaching and sharing, we should do it out of good will everything else is just a bonus.

i run a fairly new and successful blog on web strategy and design consulting, i don't intend to put ads in it, and because i do it out of love it gives me a lot of energy!
