Blogs and Domains for Sale

After nearly two years of spreading myself way too thin starting far too many websites, I've decided to get a bit more focused. I'm also planning to move back to Toronto soon, so I want less things on my mind and will thus be selling off most of my blogs and domains.

The blogs are mostly PR3, with a few PR2. A couple dropped to PR3 from 4, due to inactivity, on the most recent PR rollout. But you have a bit of a headstart over a new blog. I'll also maintain most of the existing "network" links from my other blogs. Of course, if these sell individually, I can't guarantee that, but I'll try.

All blogs listed are on WordPress and set up at GoDaddy (including the domain). Most of the articles are written by me. If you have a GoDaddy account, I believe the hosting plans can be easily transferred to another account, so you don't have to have the major hassle of porting the blog. The themes used are freebies, some with slightly customized CSS. But they are a hodge podge of themes.

All domains are on GoDaddy as well. Most domains, whether they have a blog or not, are registered for 1-3 years.

Here is a categorized list, along with approximate PR and the starting bid, with increases in increments of $10. Payment by PayPal only. Some domains have multiple blogs, usually related.

Blogs
These are starting bid prices for the blogs only. As a collection, all of my sites (including blogspot) earn negligible AdSense, so assume no CPC revenue. A few of the sites have a couple of Text-link-ads sponsors, and these may transfer over. One site has 10 sponsors, but is very niche.

UPDATED: Sun May 6, 2007. I've had to remove a couple of items from this auction, due to prior projects agreed upon with other bloggers.

  1. CodeProfessor (PR3, was 4), CodeProfessor v2 (PR2). Light coding aspects of website development. [$200]

  2. It's My Business [http://www.itsmybizniz.com/](PR2, was 3). Working online from home. [removed]
  3. It's My Television (PR3). All about TV, IPTV, and shows. [$200]
  4. Analytical [http://www.mathgurusonline.com/] (PR4), etc. [removed]
  5. MyGlobalCity (PR2, was 4), MyGlobalCity travel (PR1, was 2). [$150 coll.]
  6. Ride Lust (PR1, was 2). Posts currently written by David Allen. He may be available to continue. [$200]
  7. Sound Alchemy Online (PR2, was 4). [$150]
  8. Songwriting Forums (PR2, was 4). This is a forum, not a blog. Includes vBulletin "owned" license. Suppport paid until end of June (approx.), hosting around there, too. [$200] (I paid $400 in Dec 2006.) I'll throw in Songwritingforums.biz, .info, which are only domains.
  9. ProductFilter (PR0, empty blog). [$50]. ProductFilter.biz, .net [$25 each] Intended to be a lifestyle gadgets blog, for an affiliate marketing experiment.
  10. http://www.webfeedmail.com/journal/ (PR3). [$100]. Mostly empty blog about RSS, with messed up theme. Needs to be scrapped and rebuilt. Intent here was to build an email service based on RSS feeds, for free use. I sketched out the functions but didn't write the code yet. Considering that r-mail.org recently sold to NBC for several hundred grand, there's a lot of potential. I can even provide you with a list of RSS-based ideas.
  11. ThePokerBlog (PR4, was 5). The site was started by Ben Bleikamp and was in the 9Rules network for a while. Ben also started College-Startup, which Ryan Caldwell has, I believe. If you write about poker/ texas hold'em, you shouldn't have too much trouble getting back to PR5. I just don't have time and I don't gamble, so I mostly write about game theory/ card theory. The site earns $200-$250/m in Text-link-ads. Move it from WP1.52 to 2.+ and you might get Feedvertising sponsors as well. There are 240 posts. While there are hireable Poker writers, most want $10-20 per post, which is a lot considering the revenue. However, since affiliate rev is non-existent, there is a great deal of opportunity here, for over $1,000/m. The domain is at GoDaddy but the site is hosted at DreamHost, under the last owner's (not Ben) account. So I will have to check with him about whether he'll host for you at a price, or whether you have to move it. [$2,500, BIN $3,000] If you live in the United States, I'd recommend you think twice before buying, at least until online gambling laws change back.

Domains
These are starting bids, with a $5 increment.

  1. AdventureTravelReview.com [$200]
  2. FindRFIDTraining.com [$25]
  3. FlightVelocity.com [$100]
  4. FlyingChameleon.biz [$25]
  5. FreeDiagrams.info, FreeDiagrams.net [$50 each]. I'm keeping the .com.
  6. FreeTravelHints.com [$50]
  7. FreeTravelTips.net [$25]
  8. GetRFIDCertification.com [$25]
  9. LuxuryVacationIdeas.com [$100]
  10. OurHiveMind.com [$100]. Great potential for a social network.
  11. RFIDCareerTraining.com [$25]
  12. RFIDCertification.biz, .info [$25 each]
  13. RFIDTraining.biz, .net [$25 each]
  14. RFIDTrainingandCertification.com [$25]

I doubt many of you will want everything, but just in case, here are a few collective BINs:

Blogs: $5,500.
Domains: $1,000.

Individual BINs will only be posted if requested. Please feel free to ask questions. I reserve the right to withdraw a domain or blog /forum /site.

I bid $3000 for the all the

I bid $3000 for the all the blogs.

my fault

I guess it's my fault for having so much detail up here and not being clear. Minimum bid for all the blogs is $4,000. Given how much effort has gone into my blogs, and how the poker blog itself is worth, I think that's a fair starting bid.

I'm more than willing to help by contribute posts now and then to some of these. I'm also pretty sure that it'll be easy to transfer ownership provided you sign up with GoDaddy. I think they can just move a domain and hosting account over to another member.

that doesn't

That doesn't include the domain-only items

$4000 then. Raj. Are all

$4000 then.

Raj. Are all these *hosted* on GoDaddy? If so, how much does that cost?

You know what this bid feels

You know what this bid feels like (analogy coming....)

Picking up a massive discard pile in a game of 500 rummy ;-)

Shangai Rummy on the Poker Blog!

Now that would be fun! Nothing better than picking up a massive discard in Shanghai Rummy on the last hand as long as you don't pick up more cards than are theoretically necessary for the game to even end.

almost

Ryan, almost all of them are hosted on GoDaddy except for the Poker Blo and the Songwriting forum. All the domains are registered on GoDaddy. Many of the domains are registered until mid- to late-2008. Most of the hosting is "Economy" which is about US$3.99/mth. CodeProfessor is "Deluxe" which is about $6.99/m. I have 37 free hosting credits, too, but I'm not sure that I can transfer them. I'll check with GoDaddy if you want.

Yeah, I know it feels that way. I'm willing to help bang some of these back into shape by contributing a few articles here and there, and being "editor", if you need, including helping find writers and overseeing them for a few months. For anyone who buys the lot, that is. Else, let me know which topics interest you and I'll suggest which blogs to consider. Fact is, I've kept my 2nd-5th best blogs, revenue wise, only giving up thepokerblog.net. But several of these could do quite well with regular content. And with a bit of TLC and traffic, they're worth more than the $200 per that I'm asking.

codeprofessor.com

hello, i would like to buy codeprofessor.com and all of the articles.
How do i do this?

thanks,

sorry

I was a bit slow announcing because I had to confirm, but all of the blogs have been bought by Ryan Caldwell through the batch bid above. Only the domains are remaining. If that changes, I'll post here. Or Ryan himself may wish to sell CodeProfessor.

CodeProfessor.com

@megastarmedia: Ryan is willing to sell CodeProfessor.com. I'm sending you an email on how we go about this.
