Upstart Blogger was spun off from a personal blog that I've been writing for several years. I wanted to learn more about web development and wrote about blogging and hosting, ported a number of themes to Pligg, and created a handful of WordPress themes that have become quite popular.
The site has averaged about $1600+ a month from affiliate programs over the past six months! (This doesn't include an extra $500 or so I made a couple of months from modifying WordPress themes or providing WordPress help.)
This is a great opportunity for a web developer. If you can create WordPress, Pligg, or Blogger themes, you should be able to make a nice income from this site.
Here are some details:
- PageRank of 4
- Alexa rank of 56,574
- Technorati rank of 583 (as of 10/9) Technorati rank of 577 (as of 10/10)
- About 360 Feedburner subscribers
- Over 50 registered forum users
- 50,000+ pageviews in September (growing every month)
- 15,000+ unique visitors in September
- Domain name appraised at $240.00 to $670
- SmartPageRank values the domain at $8,088. Note that this doesn't take into account the income produced by the site.
- CyberWyre values the site at $102,992!

The site has averaged about $1,600 a month over the past six months from affiliate programs, mostly hosting. In addition, I've made about $500 a month a couple of months from unsolicited technical help (setting up WordPress blogs). There have even been a few donations for my themes.
The site should be able to make much more money. I haven't done anything to optimize affiliate income and I took a hit for a few months when my main affiliate (AN Hosting) was suffering problems. I haven't used AdSense or text ads. I haven't promoted web development services. None of the themes are sponsored.
This is a great opportunity for someone who can create WordPress, Pligg, and/or Blogger themes. The site ranks in the top 10 for Blogger themes, but I don't offer any. You could promote web design or technical help and significantly increase the income.
It's also a good passive site. You can spend about 15 minutes a day answering questions and providing support and still make $1,000+ from hosting affiliates.
Below is a chart of sales for AN Hosting/Midphase (note that I switched to Commission Junction several months ago):

Commission Junction:

There's also income from DreamHost and Hosting Zoom, modifying themes and WordPress support, and donations.
Sale includes all content (some 130 posts, with 1,300+ comments), Pligg and WordPress themes (the Pligg themes need to be updated), orignal theme design for the site itself (which could be released after a few tweaks), matching forum design (bbPress), and domain name.
