23 JUNE IMPORTANT - WE ARE PUTTING A TEMPORARY HOLD ON PAID BLOGGER ACCOUNTS SO WE CAN EFFICIENTLY DEAL WITH THOSE THAT HAVE SIGNED UP. MORE POSITIONS WILL BECOME AVAILABLE SO IF YOU REMAIN INTERESTED SIGN UP AT THE SITE AND WE WILL KEEP YOU POSTED.
Seeking bloggers to write anecdotal and entertaining travel related posts about the world’s cities.
In 2008/9 The Bloggers Guide will be publishing a series of guide books on the world’s cities. The content of the books will be based on the best blog posts submitted to thebloggersguide.com. Anyone can create an account and submit content but whilst we are in beta testing we are seeking to recruit some paid bloggers, who ultimately we hope will become the editors of the guidebooks.
As we say in our description “Our bloggers give you the inside track - they don't do pages and pages of listings; rather, they make a few recommendations of what's hot and what's not. They would rather give give you a "feel" for the city, with some nuggets of inside information and pointers to start you on your way.”
Submissions:
The style of entry should be lighthearted and informative. We want to get away from the headline attractions and seek out the niche. For instance everyone knows that Big Ben is a tourist attraction in London but Thomas Carlyle’s perfectly preserved house is less well known about.
The most important section is the “Daily Life” – this section is about the day to day culture and character of a city. For the ideal post see “Swimming in Iceland” - http://www.thebloggersguide.com/reykavik/swimming-iceland - this works well because it shows the fabric of society in a lighthearted way.

Imperial Herbal Restaurant/Singapore
EDIBLE COMPLEX
When was the last time you ate at a restaurant where you could be examined by a Chinese herbal doctor who checked your vital signs and prescribed appropriate menu choices to balance your yin and yang?
The Imperial's in-house herbalist, a mellow fellow by the name of Dr. Li Lian Xing, conducts the exam in an apothecary located in the corner of the restaurant. Feeling listless? According to Dr. Li this is due to a diet with to many yin(cool) foods, so there is a need for more yang(hot) foods such as beef, lamb, onions and ginger. One the other hand, high-strung and overweight people eat too much yang and are in need of more yin foods including mussels, cucumbers, tofu and bean sprouts.
Each of more than 100 menu items is for a specific therapeutic purpose and represents a collaboration between the herbalist and the Imperial's master chefs. The menu provides the contents of each dish and its medical benefits. For example, after a long day of sightseeing in sweltering 90+ degree heat, you can get some cooling relief by ordering "Gou Ci Cai", an appetizer consisting of an assortment of vegetables and wolfberries aid to improve vision and act as a tonic on the liver and kidneys.

Please note These guys rip
Please note
These guys rip you off by removing all any kudos points that are more than 4 weeks old. This means that to hit payout you have to churn out sufficient content at a significant pace. I have monitored the site and have not seen even one blogger succeed in hitting payout (2500 kudos - the highest anyone got was 1600 kudos then his score dropped) by the end of 4 weeks. I guess that they are very picky about what articles they accept and this may simply be a scam to get us bloggers to produce free content - would be bloggers beware!
a bug and apologies
The guys in charge claim that this was a bug and has been corrected so that they maybe OK
I will tell you when (if) I get paid...
